2002-4-1.jpg Penguitrain.jpg

History: A venerable design, the Pingitrain was originally adapted from a wild, sea-faring penguin-like Zoid which had inexplicably developed to a colossal scale. It was quickly recognized upon its discovery that it could perform as a true all-terrain transport unit and work was begun at once. Unfortunately for the enthusiastic design team, the Zoid proved flighty, temperamental, expensive to refit, and even more costly to maintain. Cramming all of the precision multi-function equipment necessary into what amounted to a fairly small frame in terms of transporters was a technician's worst nightmare. While the resulting machine provided exceptional performance in all fields - as long as it was working - it would prove totally impractical from a military standpoint. As a result only a few Pingitrains were actually constructed, and have long since slipped through the cracks into the hands of Zoid collectors and those willing to dutifully perform the drudgery necessary to keep them operating smoothly.

Capable of traversing land, air, and sea alike, the Pingitrain carries a competent loadout of both offensive and defensive equipment as it was conceptually intended to operate in active combat zones close to the front line. Beyond cannon and missile armament, it's notable as perhaps the only transport Zoid capable of actively defending itself in close combat; both the beak and talons are constructed using reinforced weapons-grade hardened alloy and the unit even mounts a large-scale strike laser generator. A unique four-tiered rotating rack system maximizes internal space, with each rack providing capacity for one large-scale or several smaller-scale Zoids. An electromagnetic catapult in the head and aft-mounted drop deck, in addition to the standard belly ramp, provide a bevy of deployment options for the carried machines.

Biography: While not oif high standing themselves, the Bao family has maintained an association with the upper crust of beastman society by providing a number of services - most notably the incongruous duo of chefs and bodyguards. Unlike many beastman clans who disregarded the addition of a surname until recent times, the Bao line has laid claim to their family identity for generations. Despite the genetic origin on their human side not being distinctly recognizable as coming from old Earth China, the familial possession of features resembling the long-extinct giant panda have led them to traditionally choose Chinese given names.

Ming was tapped as a possible bodyguard for several minor members of the beastman royal family which eventually led to her appointment as Princess Adenine's attache. Often described - though never to her face - as a 'wall of meat', she's one of the few who can easily manhandle to wayward noblewoman in the event such is necessary to keep her out of trouble. Beyond personal protection she handles a number of day-to-day tasks organizing the crew of the Dai-Gunkai. Her own gunman, the Gember, is a limited-production unit particularly suited to her skills.

Mobile Weapon: Gember

Affiliation: Beastman Nation
