After much fine tuning, Mobile Suit Gundam: Exuvia is getting underway!
What started as an experimental side-project corralled into a sub-forum on Ignition has grown into its own full-scale setting and adventure, thanks to the interest and support of our incredible community. Mobile Suit Gundam, now in its thirtieth year, continues to win new hearts and fans world over, and we hope that the story of Exuvia, told through our own very talented authors, will showcase the themes and ideals that people have come to know and love about the iconic series often referred to as the "Japanese Star Trek".
So, what is Exuvia about?
Exuvia, at is heart, is a story about freedom on the far-flung Jovian moons, of a society still reeling from the hubris wrought out of placing too much power into cold, mechanical hands, - and eventually, perhaps inevitably, having to pry said hands from about its neck, now gasping for breath as it tries to determine what to do next.
It is a tale of destiny, when legends begin to emerge from the wastelands, first nothing more than rumors at seedy, dusty bars, until they are spoken of in the same hushed, reverent tones as the Gundam itself. The fate of the Jovian sphere, once promised to be the heart of a galactic expansion, rests in the hands of the wayward outcast Vultures, and their counterparts, the scions of order, the MS Hunters.
...And of course, like any good Gundam tale, it's about love, tragedy, betrayal, and a whole lot of destruction!
Will a new golden age of freedom, reclamation, and prosperity for all emerge from the fires of war?
Or will mankind be eternally bound by the shackles of conflict, giving rise to an even more oppressive, totalitarian regime than ever before?
The answer...
