Britannian Secretariat of State for Foreign Relations, U.N. Branch

"My lord your scheduled meeting is in seven minutes." The Britannian crony informed the well dressed man sitting before a screen. "Would you wish to review the footage one last time before it we must really start now."

The past few days had been busy, terrorism, Orphan, terrorism on Orphan. And those were just internal matters, not his concern all in all seeing as the noble sitting here was placed in charge of foreign representation. But that didn't mean he couldn't be concerned about them, especially considering that the freezing incident all the way in Area 10 had rendered his highness the Crown Prince bedridden.

"Go ahead." The man spoke, "Start the footage at Miss Koenig's introduction and play until the first question."

The object of her presentation, the Chulip, had in fact landed not all too far away. Notably having been inert since arriving, which brought the question to the fore of whether the object had been rendered inert by its orbital entry thereby denying those on the other end of it to send the selfsame unmanned army towards the earth's somewhat vulnerable underbelly. Still, it was under joint surveillance by the various nations and so far no evacuation had been issued.

"The league made a proper embarrassment of itself did it not?" He spoke to the underling who controlled the presentation, "First they make a fuss about the invaders, then they actually group up for the first time in two lifetimes only to crumple like that." It had been a proud tradition of war that the invader suffered a lot more intense losses than the defender, both sides in this conflict looked like they got a taste of that. However it had caused a massive dent in the fame of the League, no longer were they this invincible force if only they teamed up. In space with them there was a group which could meet them on the field of battle and score a decisive victory.

The adherent nodded along "Quite so my Lord."

"I suppose today we will find out whether it was the failings of the League or the fortitude of these Jovians which created their victory."

The selfsame man, positioned at the end of a long table hands gently resting on the wood sourced no further than his very own homeland, looked towards the screen on the other end. In just a few moments a man half the solar system away would exchange words with him. The room behind him, clad in the expected decadence of the homeland. A small slice of Britannia in the other half of the world one which indicated just the raw vastness of the natural bounty Britannia had access to.

The screen went on, it was the time for politics on an interplanetary scale.
"Greetings Chairman, in the name of His Excellence the Emperor I am honored to receive you even if it is not in person."

"My name is Grand Duke Barnabus Saintclair, representative for the Britannian Empire here at the U.N. While I am filled with curiosity about not just your nation I shall save these questions for later, it would be remiss of me to barrage one who contacted us with questions before listening to what they wish to say. As such the floor is yours."
By all accounts a formality, for most questions were liable to be answered by an introduction but both of these statements served the joint purpose of establishing one as host and the other as guest. There was genuine curiosity what the Jovian Federation wished from them, whether it was allies on the ground to sandwich the league between or to establish a more positive relation before a surprise invasion as the LCC indicated would happen.

But that wouldn't be allowed to undermine Britannia's position as one of the most powerful nations on Earth.

The scene displayed upon the screen was nothing to balk at, as the Jovian Chairman sat at a rather simple desk, with a massive window behind him, Jupiter and Io taking up most of it’s real estate. The chairman himself was an older gentleman, slicked back gray hair, well shaven save for comb mustache, dressed in a sharp white military esque uniform. Sat next to him were two younger individuals, a man and a woman. The young woman wore a very similar uniform to the chair, although her appearance stopped being typical from there. Her head was freshly shaved, with old, obvious scars running from the front to back. While one arm rested politely at the table, the other was clearly a prosthetic, ending in a three fingered digit.
The young man on his other side was gorgeous, well kept, tall with long, flowing blonde locks. He was leaning into the desk before him, a sweet smile clearly on his face, even if it wasn’t entirely genuine.

“Grand Duke Saintclair, it is an honor to speak with the people of Earth. I only wish it were under better circumstances.”

“My name is Marion Garlen, and I am the thirtieth Chairman of the Jovian Federation. My people were guided off world nearly three centuries ago by selfish, self righteous men who thought themselves to know better than anyone else. I hold no secret that it was the conflict between our forebears and the League of old that drove us off the planet- But I cannot deny that I believe it is the League of today, that believed they could wipe us out to whatever end.”

“My people and I wish to join once more with the Earth, and to that measure, we would like to extend a hand in friendship to your Empire.”

Saintclair had no immediate visible reaction to the introduction bar nodding a few times to indicate he was in fact listening, also recording but that was besides the fact. "The conflict you had with the League has also been heard of here I must admit, though not all the details have been shared due to the fact you are even contacting us now I can make a few assumptions about the outcome, even if I would be intrigued to hear it from yourself."

He shifted his position slightly, one wrist over the other as his gaze never broke from the screen itself. "Still, recent scars aside I am gladdened to hear that you would extend that hand to Britannia." There were a few things he wanted to hear their tale of, the conflict with the league, that past and also what they had to say about the threat suggested to be theirs by the League. Spiting one adversary was all well and good, but inviting a viper would not do much more good than that should these Jovians have naught but their destruction in mind.

Granted, technological exchange could also be valuable depending on what was given for what cost.
"But I must admit, while I am allowed to take your hand in this. The privilege of shaking it is solely that of the Emperor himself. It is for that purpose I would be glad to hear of you, your people and your history so that I may relay that tale to my peers and vouch for your seat at our side."
It was time to see how they presented themselves.
