A young man driven by vendetta against Knight of Ten, wishes for reformation of the Britannian empire, which to have any hope of accomplishing he will eventually need to become Knight of One.
A commonborn Britannian citizen, Artur harbored no particular ambitions, much less grand ones, until his older sister whom he adored was slain by the current Knight of Ten. As Knights of the Round have special privileges and are only punishable by the emperor, no justice was served. What do the lives of a commoner here, a commoner there matter compared to the skills of one of the most skilled pilots of the superpower? As long as no noble blood or anyone of actual import were killed naught would be done about it.
And that was inexcusable to Artur.
Ever since, the lack of any justice has been driving the child and now young man forward, making him do his damnest to become the perfect, best soldier to come from his generation. And by the time he graduated from the military academy that had been accomplished even after a minor mishap of a training accident where he lost his eye, Artur was the best Knightmare pilot in the entire institute and everyone knew it.
After, he was chosen by an experimental branch of Britannian military research toe be their tester. He tested both the first 7th generation Knightframe, Lancelot, and a recent breakthrough in prosthetic technology in the form of a cybernetic eye. despite the risks to both life and wellbeing, for Lancelot did not have an ejection system and his body could have rejected the cybernetic eye, Artur gladly accepted. Risks were always going to be necessary and these rewards were obviously worth it. Depth perception and larger field of vision were crucial on a battlefield, and what did the lack of an ejection system matter? Lancelot was at the time far and away the Knightframe with the highest performance. All he would need to do to negate the risks that lack of an ejection system brought with it was to not lose in a decisive manner.
His original motivation is still there, but there have been later additions to his dreams of reformation. Not only would the Knights of the Round need their privileges revoked, but the entire Area and Number system needed to be demolished, for it was gnawing away at the empire, and it would surely collapse on itself soon if the toxic system was not abolished. They were all part of Britannia, oppressing majority of the nation did it no favors. It was sheer stupidity.
