Due to her training, Sakiya is also very skilled at martial arts, and the use of guns. This helps while piloting the Vardant.
Biography: Sakiya was born in Pre-Britannian Japan, born the only daughter to the head of a yakuza family. While she was raised very protected, she very much liked to take an aggressive approach to things, becoming more and more intimate with the ways of martial arts as well as the business surrounding her yakuza family. While her father wished that she live a life different than his own, she insisted and eventually even became the family’s top enforcer, providing security to all who came to them.
That would all change with the fall of Japan as a nation, and the arrival of the Holy Britannian Empire. Many of her comrades fell, including her biological parents who she failed to protect. While escaping however, Sakiya came washed up on a small island, nearly half dead having ran away from Britannian forces. There she stumbled and nearly succumbed to her wounds, however her spirit still burning, she pushed inwards until she found what looked to be a crescent moon buried in foliage. There was a flash, as words filled her head. Machina, Factor, and it’s name, Vardant. Then, she passed out for what seemed like only moments before awakening in last bastion of where Independent Japan staked it’s claim.
With her many failures, she attempted to find strength by finding a select few who were courageous enough to revive the traditions of the yakuza, eventually she came to lead a small group of volunteers. But even as her mind managed to move past the tragedy, and her soul filled now with wisdom from past mistakes, she still felt an unease in her body. One day, she decided to return to see what had become of her home, only to see the carnage caused by the tyrants of Britannia. They treaded down upon the weak, hiding in their ivory towers too afraid to face the consequences themselves. From that day on, she resolved herself to lend her blade to those she deemed courageous enough to receive it, and strike down those who would use fear and power as their weapon. Japanese, Britannian, Eorzean, Beastman, as long as they had any had the courage to fight against the powerful, her blade was theirs. Her’s, and the Machina she could summon to her side, Vardant.
