In the wake of the global calamity, the agency was rolled into the restructured Special Disaster Response Team, expanding and formalizing its activities to assist in the recovery from the crisis. Part of this process included the creation of Ryugu-jo, the Undersea Dragon's Palace, as humanity's communal storehouse for Sacrists. The Special Disaster Response Team was divided into two branches: Section One, which handled the evacuation of civilians, conventional incident countermeasures, and post-crisis cleanup; and Section Two, which assisted in those duties, while also handling confidential information and direct combat engagements utilizing the Symphogear.
In time, as the planet recovered, Section Two was formally recognized by the United Nations and placed under its multinational jurisdiction, becoming a special operations taskforce of the U.N. Security Council. This led to further expansion of their organization and its duties, reorganized as S.O.N.G. - the Squad Of Nexus Guardians.
S.O.N.G. is a highly organized operation relying on precision, coordination, and logistical support to carry out missions swiftly and efficiently. Agents in the field rely upon local allies and multinational military support for insertion and extraction, with a command center carefully monitoring their efforts, reassessing the situation and providing new guidance as ground conditions progress. Their research facilities are often top secret and highly secure. The combination lends S.O.N.G. the appearance and authority of a paramilitary group, peacekeeping contractor, or law enforcement agency. Accordingly, most of its members wear navy blue uniforms to help identify them to the public in the field.

Description: The current commander of S.O.N.G. A cordial, diplomatic woman in most respects who will sooner attempt to open channels than open fire. However, her velvet touch belies her iron hand - firm and steely under fire, her steady wits are the backbone of her team. Her figure is likewise a model of softness over strength - flowing, curvy, yet quite sturdy. Generally speaking she's thick all around, pairing a plump frame with a long and wavy mane. While she was always on the curvy side, much of her current figure is due to age and maternity. Where Myeong-Suk and Kefira make a point to maintain their athleticism, Yadira mainly just tries to keep herself reasonably trim. When in uniform she favors a pencil skirt. When out of uniform, she's more given to saris, loose tops, and ankle-length skirts.
A natural Adapter, she joined S.O.N.G. in her youth as a Symphogear wielder. Hers was a storied career as part of the Gungnir team, but one that was ultimately a largely secret one. At the same time, she publically pursued a singing career, and used it as a cover while investigating incidents. She was aided in these pursuits by her highly capable manager Ashwin Mishra. In time, the two fell in love and were engaged to be married, with Yadira temporarily stepping down as a wielder while she pursued a family. Ashwin's death in a noise attack ended those dreams for her, leaving her colder, harder, and more devoted to the cause than ever. Even the birth of their only child months later did little to warm her wounded heart, and she became a largely absent mother as she buried herself in her work.
As her daughter, Saidra, grew up and displayed similar natural talents, Yadira became ardently opposed to any attempt to employ those talents at S.O.N.G. She was happy for the girl to pursue a music career, but despite her latent potential as an Adapter and sizeable martial arts skills taught to her by Kefira, the prospect of her daughter facing the same hardships and tragedies as she had was too much to accept. It wasn't until Myeong-Suk's daughters became Candidates, and Saidra relentlessly pressed to join them, that she was finally willing to budge, even slightly. Even then, she insisted on Saidra adopting a defensive relic and a largely supporting role, where she would have the highest survival chances.
While not a formal or active wielder herself, Yadira possesses the Airgetlam Symphogear for use in emergency situations. It is primarily an absolute last line of defense should the S.O.N.G. HQ be attacked, but she has also taken to the field on exceedingly rare occasions when S.O.N.G.'s resources were stretched thin.

Description: Mentor and martial arts instructor at S.O.N.G. Her volatile temper and itchy trigger finger have gotten her into more than her share of problems, but her dedication to the unit is second to none. It really isn't her fault though - she's a touch hyperactive, and tends to have a bit of a hair trigger. A lot of this energy she's funneled into fitness over the years, maintaining herself as a muscly little twig. Even as she nears 50, she's still a taut and wiry hardbody, with a tush so firm one could bounce quarters off it. And then promptly have them shoved down their throat by the irascible spitfire. She keeps her hair far shorter and less voluminous than her sister, often tied back in a braid or left straight. In uniform she favors slacks. Out of uniform she usually opts for snug, sporty ensembles of shorts, leggings, jodhpurs, and tank or crop tops. It's not entirely uncommon, however, for her to opt for more breezy options on her lazy days, like a sleep shirt over pajamas.

Description: Mentor and musical instructor at S.O.N.G. The genetic lottery was about the only stroke of luck Myeong-Suk enjoyed growing up. That she was found fairly early in life by Section 2, and made to adhere to a strict training regimen to hone herself was as much blessing as curse. Somewhere between the two factors, there emerged a young woman of both beauty and redoubt, her curves built on lean and balanced muscle. She was a five-and-a-half foot, C-cup powerhouse with a washboard belly, a wicked right hook, and substantial natural talent as an Adapter. These days, while she still keeps in shape, she's not quite that level of fit anymore. In many places, the athletic tautness and pertness of her youth have relaxed into soft and matronly curves. She takes pride in these badges of motherhood. She wears them gladly. And thus while she keeps herself trim, she's possessed of a distinct milfen hourglass that does her few favors in a serious fight. The combination of her modest height with her rounded figure makes her chest and thighs somewhat prominent. Her hair is a rich chocolate brown, long and silken with a slight waviness as it rests about her shoulders. It's a distinct change from the spartan bob she kept it in for much of her formative years, one that accompanied her transition from militant to mother.

Elekleid
Given the difficulty in harnessing Sacrists or finding Adapters who could synchronize with them, alternative methods of combatting Noise were explored over time. One of these methods was the Elekleid, an electrical gauntlet developed by Nikola Tesla which could be tuned to a wavelength capable of touching the Noise Phase Contrast Barrier. The design was subsequently developed by the Kazanari Agency into rudimentary armaments. With the modern study of the Symphogear, and the application of its principles to the Elekleid concept, a series of summonable battle suits have been developed to enable skilled fighters to support the Adapters in their battles.
Rather than singing, Elekleid harness latent elemental energy in the area and convert it to electrical power. Without the benefit of a relic shard's power or the multiplicative qualities of Phonic Gain, Elekleid are substantially more limited in their abilities than a Symphogear. What's more, their intricacy means they cannot be easily mass-produced, and only a select number of highly skilled individuals are able to fully employ their power. Even if they were able to be fielded in numbers, the reliance on local elemental energy would make it difficult to fully power all the suits simultaneously, to say nothing of the possible environmental degradation such a mass usage might inflict. Nor can they be used safely around bodies of water, given the electrical dispersal.
Yet, when fielded as single units in tandem with Symphogear, they can allow greater flexibility within an operation, and enable a broader response in mass or multiple simultaneous Noise appearances. Users of the system, or 'Blitzers' are also easier to find and recruit than Adapters. And should an Elekleid actually be operated by a suitable Adapter, its efficacy will be exponentially higher.
Ryugu-jo

A fortress constructed at the bottom of the sea. Designed as a maximum security facility for housing dangerous sacrists, along with other objects related to black arts tech that have yet to be analyzed. It has a reputation similar to Pandora's Box or the Tamatebako, in that it's a treasure vault that will only bring misery if opened.

The Euterpe is a all-environment mobile operations center custom-built for S.O.N.G. In normal operation, it spends most of its time as a submersible craft overseeing the group's operations from the nearest port or body of water. When need be it can operate as an aerospace craft, though it would require additional equipment and a mass driver to leave the atmosphere. Its hull is structured mainly for aquatic operations, but also features a sheltered helipad in the middle of the ship. Personnel traveling to and from the Euterpe do so by U.N. partner aircraft such as UH-60J Blackhawks on loan from the JSDF.
