Faction Name: Reclaimers
Government: "Anarcho-syndicalist Commune"
Capital: Orphan, presently in the Pacific Ocean
Territories: Various islands in the Pacific, notably Hawaii
Population: Approximately 1,000 members.
Goals: The repair of Orphan, development of Gran Cher, preservation of organisms on Earth through selective admission to Orphan.

History:

Founded by the radical bio-ethicist Gustave Clint, the Reclaimers are what could charitably be described as "eco-terrorists". Its ranks are primarily made up of scientists, civilians, and disillusioned soldiers looking for an alternative to the looming Earth-Space conflict. Its roots began after the first explorations into the crashed bio-lifeform made its nature more and more clear - those who chose to stay inside its cavernous, beating interior started to develop an unusual connection, a kind of sympathy for the entity, and began to work towards its protection and preparation. On the advice of their colleagues, more and more people began to join the research expedition, even long after government funding and public interest had begun to wane. Detractors began to describe the atmosphere within its halls as "cult-like", erratic behavior and bizarre rituals mixing with vehement anti-Earth sentiment and elaborate doomsday proclamations. A complex network of private trusts and philanthropists, enthralled with their growing library of papers and experiments on Organic Power, set aside a staggering amount of money that allowed the group to become self-sustaining, constructing a variety of facilities both in and around Orphan that made them increasingly difficult to dislodge.

When it was proposed to destroy Orphan out of concern for its true nature, the reaction from the aformentioned community was both immediate and militant. The Britannian fleet that was sent to escort out the researchers instead found itself under fire by strange organisms originating from Orphan, ridden by those they had come to save, now calling themselves the Reclaimers. Ever since that day, they have militantly patrolled the Pacific Islands, searching for Plates scattered by Orphan all over the world during its descent. They believe that when Orphan leaves the planet, it will guide mankind to the stars, as well as vampirize all the planet's latent biological energy, turning it into nothing more than a desiccated husk unable to sustain human life.

In this sense, Orphan presents an opportunity for mankind to "Start over", a kind of Noah's Ark for only the chosen few who ascribe to the group's increasingly radical ideology. Only time will tell if their heady predictions will bear fruit...

Look and feel:

The Reclaimers, due to being a mostly civilian organization, lacks any distinct uniform, preferring instead to see itself as a community of like-minded intellectuals.

Notable Individuals:

Gustav Clint:

An Austrian-American Bio-ethicist, Clint's radical theories about the nature of Organic Energy drew both attention and scathing mockery, as it sought to reconcile often conflicting ideas that bordered on the surreal. Gustav was among the first who visited Orphan after its crash landing by virtue of being on vacation in Hawaii at the time, and though he does not regard himself as the leader of the "movement", he is nevertheless known as its "First Citizen". He was primarily responsible for much of the knowledge about Orphan that has made it into the public eye, publishing his papers online, and was the first to take up permanent residence in its interior.

His works are considered something of an acquired taste, but his dedication to his cause is both sincere and passionate, winning him many admirers worldwide, preaching preservation of Earth as the single most important issue facing the planet, and railing against the introduction of Kojima Technology, Getter Rays, and any other volatile substance that could threaten Earth's inhabitants. His published body of work became increasingly cynical, finally concluding with the formation of the Reclaimers that mankind was beyond saving, and in desperate need of a "genetic reset" - one that Orphan will carry out, if his theories are correct.

Gran Cher

Antibodies extracted from Orphan's Plates, these living weapons are born ready to fight. Stoic to a fault, Gran Chers are much more aggressive compared to Brain Powerds, feeding off the organic energy of their pilots. Each carries a Sword Extension, a handheld blade that acts as a nexus for its Organic Energy, capable of firing beams of light, as well as being used for cutting and thrusting. Each is able to zip through the air with ease, its distinctive movement immediately recognizable from a distance as a series of short ranged teleport-like "jumps". Gran Cher are also able to manifest a barrier from this same energy that is able to soften - or render harmless - much conventional ordinance. Notably, they are capable of enduring the beams of the Laser-Class BETA, making the Reclaimers one of the very few factions able to bring air power to bear against the invasive menace.

Bio Zoids

One of the Reclaimer's first initiatives upon being formed was to travel to Australia, in order to address the terrible mutations wracking the local Zoid population due to Tiberium exposure. Herding the mutant lifeforms aboard their vessels, the Reclaimers have since worked to cultivate, strengthen, and sustain them through experimentation. Each Bio-Zoid, despite its skeletal and oftentimes harrowing appearance, is treated as a valuable creature of planet earth by the Reclaimers, and an unfortunate victim of mankind's arrogance. When not being used for propaganda, these make for highly effective shock troops for the Reclaimers, buffeted against onslaughts by Hell Armor, a byproduct of their mutated hides.
