Biography: As the first born of Magnus Xos Deus, a lot of expectation was placed on Mila's shoulders. She had known since she was small that she would not be leading the empire, being born female. Instead, her father would choose a successor to marry her off to. But that didn't mean she got the attention of a doting father. For as long as she could remember, it was a struggle to gain affection from either parent. She was raised by hand maidens until she was old enough to tend her own needs.

But being small or a girl didn't save her from a path chosen for her. She did not resent that path either, as it meant she gained what she craved most; her father's attention. Despite how busy he was, he carved out time to teach her to fight and some military tactics. She gained her mother's attention when she was old enough to express interest in the WEAPON project, specifically after watching her father pilot Ultima and absorb one of Eorzea's primals with relative ease. She grew up caught between the two worlds of science and the battlefield... until now, when Diamond WEAPON made it possible to plant herself squarely in both.

Description:

History: Diamond was designed to be aerial support. Over the years, the design changed again and again, from aerial to ground and back again until the final design was settled on. A heavily armored aerial machine, capable of combat on the ground. It's massive weight posed a problem, until the armor was designed to be divested and reconfigured.

Further reconfiguration to the mech was made to increase it's power output and stability while 'naked'. Though it still has overheating problems, it can perform at it's overclocked peak for several minutes before needing to re-engage it's armor and limiters for immediate cooldown. The exploding when oveheated problem took three prototypes to solve... but now it just shuts down and jettisons the pilot. As one of the more complex of the quartet designed, Mila insisted on being the pilot.

Biography: Koharu and Kaien were unfortunate enough to be born in a Garlean controlled Doman colony. Further misfortune befell the twins when the Doman colony was liberated days after they and many other non combatants were used as hostages by retreating Garleans. Separated from their family, trapped behind enemy lines, Koharu and Kaien had no choice but to obey and keep their heads down.

Both were destined to end up as thousands of captive youngsters: forced into service of Garlemald as conscripts. They are used against each other to keep them in line, one held back as a captive audience while the other performed on the battle field. They protected each other in this odd dance, striving to ever improve and survive. One false move, one inkling of betrayal, and the other would die.

Koharu proved to be the more tactile of the pair, using strategies and terrain to net victories against the Eorzeans. Often, this meant she acted on her own with little or no support, shy as she is, but her superiors often overlook it or take charge to be her voice on the battle field and execute the strategies. Her acolaids have earned her the position of piloting the Emerald Weapon, often using her brother's combat data to supplement her weaker fighting skills.

Emerald weapon was the second WEAPON to be finished by Garlemald and went through the least amount of iterations to be completed. By absorbing a wind and fire elemental primal, the machine is capable of complex maneuvers and flight superior to that of DIAMOND weapon. The equipment loadout performs best in the hands of an intelligent pilot as opposed to one of brute force.

Kaien was nominated to pilot RUBY weapon thanks to the synergy presented in EMERALD weapon's test data at the hands of Koharu. He is fiercely protective of his sister and gladly accepted the position, giving him the chance to one day escape with her using Garlemald's own machines... if only they could be deployed on the same battlefield.

History:
Ruby was the third machine to be completed after several iterations to shore up it's armor and balance. The Ruby weapon suffered with the additional weight and decrease in speed, relying upon transportation. Thanks to it's absorption of an earth elemental Eikon though, its movement has significantly increased via burrowing underground.

Biography: Like many of Garlemald's impressive army, Haldgybet was conscripted into the ranks when he was deemed old enough by the powers that be. He has survived two decades of service to the very thing he hates most on Hydaelyn by focusing on taking each day as it comes and protecting his units. Often taking the roll of tank, he charges the battlefield to draw Eorzean attention to himself while the rest of his unit takes them out. Each day is a living hell, survived out of pure spite and determination to protect his friends and family on the battlefield.

Through the pain and suffering, he has not lost hope. Hope that one day his whole unit would end up captive to the Eorzeans and finally freed, like so many of his brothers on the battlefield. While he has no contact or resources on the outside, he has managed to stage several captures of more vulnerable members of his units, gaining them their freedom on the outside. They carry messages for him, should they survive. Until that fateful day...

That day the Eorzeans, desperate to gain their foothold, unleashed an Eikon upon the Garlean forces. Most of Haldgybet's unit was wiped out by the primal. The rest, unfit for duty from their injuries. Magnus approached Haldgybet after the fight to offer condolences and a chance at revenge. The final WEAPON neared it's completion and was ready for a test run. All it needed.... was a water aspected Eikon to augment it's power. Haldgybet accepted the offer.

Description:

History:

Sapphire is the final of the four WEAPONS to be completed. It's design took several iterations to get right, and several more to stabilize the aquatic design. With it's completion, the WEAPONs could now cover near every scenario of deployment: Land, Air, and Sea. The final iteration of Sapphire WEAPON was able to survive multiple deep dive tests that had crushed it's previous iterations. Sapphire's design limits it's deployment to naval warfare, lacking much means to go on land.

Sapphire was put in the hands of Haldgybet Guolwaeksyn, one of the more decorated officers in the Garlean empire with a naval background. As his first assignment, Haldgybet and Sapphire were deployed to Meracydia to lure out and absorb a known compatible primal. Meracydia seemed am ample target. Sapphire would be tested and so would Haldgybet's loyalty. For no one short of a loyal Garlean would approach a primal of the dragons. After a hard fight, Sapphire emerged victorious and absorbed the Mist Dragon, where the primal is now sealed, sustained by the mechanical monstrosity that enslaved it.

He was tagged as a candidate to pilot the new test units, but ended up passed over instead to captain the ship that would carry them, by far a much better position as far as he is concerned.
