Hello there weary traveler! And welcome to Hydaelyn! Well done getting through the gate and past Garlean forces! Or maybe you didn't and you're a conscript or escaped prisoner of war. Or perhaps you willingly joined them in their goals to conquer everything. However you got here, it doesn't matter! What matters is that you are here.

But where is "Here" exactly?

Well. I'm not exactly sure. The Garleans keep the location of the gate under wraps. We're extremely lucky if we manage to get enough of a force to it and out to support our troops on the other side.

Odds are you're somewhere here on one of these landmasses!

There are several countries here, but a few territories to note.Everything in red is controlled by the Garlean Empire. In blue is the Eorzean Alliance and violet is the Far East, they're all allies there, fighting the Empire for their lands back. Thavinair is down there in green, barely maintaining their independence. And far to the west indark purple is Sharlaya, a bunch of egg heads who remain neutral.

South of this continent is Meracydia, home of the dragons. I don't recommend going there."

- Ancients were seeded by the Protoculture.
- Ancients have utopia
- Cataclsym destroys utopia
- Ancients create a god to stop cataclysm via sacrificing half the population.
- ancients branch off into two factions, second faction sacrifices themselves to summon another god to stop first god
- gods fight, destroy their gate in the sundering of the planet. God 1 is destroyed/defeated.
- blowback seeds parts of a shard into other planets on both sides of the gate
- ancients become ascians, begin working to cause rejoinings
- omega deem dragons a threat to humanity's evolution, dispatch means to eradicate them
- dragons flee the planet, midgardsormr being lost along the way
- omega pursues midgardsormr
- midgardsormr chances across eorzea world, seeks amnesty and is granted, god 2 heals Midgardsormr with last of it's energy on condition midgardsormr takes care of the planet now
-omega catches the attention of the Protoculture; is sealed away and used as base for controllers
- midgardsormr raises the brood that was with him on eorzea
- First brood hatches and is raised by Midgard to fulfill their duty
- Bahamut, Tiamat, Ratatoskr, Hraesvelgr, Shinryu take this seriously and pick a region to guard
- Nidhogg resents this duty, doesnt help
- in anger, people lash out at Nidhogg for his lack of helping
- Nidhogg launches full war on humans
- fearful of nidhogg influencing bahamut and tiamat, people turn on the couple
- Hraesvalgr and Ratotaskr side against nidhogg
- Nidhogg kills ratotaskr in battle, people deal fatal blow to nidhogg while he is weakened
- nidhogg steals ratotaskr's remaining power and life force to sustain him, retreats
- bahamut is killed
- in grief led by tiamat's sorrow, bahamut's remaining aethyr and power is used by one of bahamut's loyal servants to take on the form of the wyrm. Tiamat lets herself get locked as penance for what she did.
- Bahamut Primal gets locked by the spell, tries to portal away to Earthside but it doesnt break the spell, his prison is on the Moon.
- Reckless summoning of primals used as a method of Rejoining
- After a period of Eorzeans trying out the (Soon to be) Garlean method of eradicating eikons (murder death kill) they instead choose to 'embrace' it to a point.
- an uneasy peace with beast tribes/primal summoners eventually end in primals being 'perfected', summoning becomes a tool restricted to those with Echo.
- Primals are used when appropriate, whether to defend against invaders or to heal the land, but they are careful to not overuse them to the point the land dies
- Militaristic Empire of Garlemald is established by the anti-Eikon folks; Anti-Eikon research begins en mass
- Magitek is devised; Allagan weapons cache is discovered
- Garlemald begins WEAPON project
- Earth calamity strikes, sealed gate is forced open; resources diverted from WEAPON project
- Eden is utilized to begin slow restoration of earth.
- Eden starts in the Middle East, allowing a detachment to be established and expansion begin
- WEAPON project efforts redouble

The People of Hydaelyn

Hyur - One of many races of people on Hydaelyn! They are the Humans of the world and are the most abundant. They come in two subcategories, Midlander and Highlander. Midlanders tend to be more educated of the lot with smaller builds. Like their clan name suggests, they settle in the midlands. Highlanders, on the other hand, are taller and more slender built. They tend to settle in mountainous regions.

Elezen - Elezen are a traditionally nomadic race, though they do settle. Elezen look much like Hyur, with a tendency to be taller and more slender with long pointy ears. They too have two clans. Wildwood, who inhabit the forests with a keen sense of sight; and Duskwight, who inhabit caves and caverns with grey hued skin and a keen sense of hearing.

Miqo'te - Miqo'te are a race similar to Hyur with cat like features (Cat ears, tail, slitted eyes, clawed nails). They too come from two clans. The Seekers of the sun, a Diurnal clan with a propensity for Heterochromatic eyes; and the Keepers of the Moon, a nocturnal clan.
