Ah, a sensible decision at long last. The pilot thought to himself before suddenly pausing as if struck by some cosmic reality. A Garlean admitted defeat? In fact now that he thought back the behavior was atypical for the nationalist fanatics that composed their ranks especially ones that would be granted a weapon such as this. If it was a conscript that was easy enough to explain but he didn't need to sense the aether to know this was a Garlean. The way they spoke made that evident that even if they were not born Garlean they considered themselves thus.

Wordlessly the Rune God extended its hands, with a dull sound the magick underneath the warmachina erupted upwards casting a heaven piercing beam into the skies. The pilot spoke up again suddenly, his tone however had somewhat grown softer.
"On second thought, perhaps I misjudged your ilk, at least somewhat." The rogue Diamond Weapon vanished into thin air as the Rune God looked back at the cooling one, flames looming beneath its gaze as smoke covered the space between them. "Not to say this is a sudden change of heart, not at all. I need not repeat the obvious here."

His prize was secured and the Rune God looked at the approaching reinforcements for the reinforcement, he shouldn't linger too much but there were words to be said. "You speak of mutual benefit, yes? Then I'll offer that problem to you as a test. I won't give you any specific time limit, though if I were you I'd do so with some modicum of haste." One of the claws traced a shape into the air, a small piece of parchment fluttering down in response as it dodged the flames. Once more the enemy turned away from the Diamond Weapon, stepping one foot into the light.
"There even one with your disability should be able to handle that. Oh, but I should say I much prefer interesting exchanges." And with that, he and the pillar of light were gone. The flames appeared to suddenly realize they were on a frozen mountain peak as well as they subsided swiftly until only smoke was left of them.

Her assessments so far were truthful and there was the notion of wisdom behind them, here was to hoping there would be no such thing as a banal trap at the inevitable exchange they would ask.

Mila gripped the controls tight, jaw clenched, and leg bouncing. Her gaze lingered upon the monitors reading out the slow dropping temperature numbers. Diamond waited, like a caged animal watching prey that had teased it escape into the aether. It's sibling vanished in the blink of an eye, successfully absconded by the interloper. Oh how it galled to lose that precious piece of machinery, much more than the notion that she had been cornered by the unknown enemy. The WEAPONs were designed to face Eorzea's threats, not from beyond the rift in that other world. Not yet, at least.

And yet, rather than taunt her or strike while he thought she was cowed he instead entertained an idea. Mila cocked her head, curious. "What kind of test?" She frowned at the parchment's sudden appearance. Diamond reached out to snatch the paper and bring it to the cockpit where it would be safe and secure. Her glare fell upon the invader's back. How dare he call her disabled? Garleans were stronger because they did not need the feeble magicks of the barbarians to survive. They had discarded that crutch centuries ago and evolved to become stronger, strong enough to survive in the most inhospitable of climate! Strong enough to overcome through sheer force of will and bend the very elements to their designs in the form of technology! Sure, they were behind in the race compared to the other world, but soon enough they would adapt to that and make it their own as well!

She swallowed her anger, something many of her zealotous comrades couldn't or wouldn't do. So full of themselves, lacking the humbling needed. No, she had to be better, keep a clear mind. Allowing him to goad her would only end in further devastation on Garlemald. She waited until he had vanished, then glanced to the paper in Diamond's hand.

The proximity alarm drew her out of her investigation, Diamond quickly securing the sheet into it's own storage to hide it. The massive form of Emerald WEAPON was at her side in a matter of moments. The machine was slow and lumbering compared to the speeds she could coax out of Diamond.

"Are you alright?" Koharu's voice projected over the barren battlefield.

Mila schooled her face, suppressed the boiling rage and burning curiosity, then turned Diamond to face it's elder sibling. "I am fine. Return to the Aetites, we were too late. The assailant got away with the defunct prototype."

Koharu was a good soldier, for the most part. She took to being commanded much better than her brother or Haldgybet. And yet... she would not share with them the details of this paper. Not yet anyway, not until she knew what the task was. No... this would be hidden from everyone until she could ascertain the sincerity of this man and his machinations. It was her duty, after all, to protect her people.
