Goals: Successful reintegration of the Earth Sphere, pushing the boundary of human limitations through Coordinators
History: Well before the imminent dangers and degradation of Mars there were many who prepared to leave the red planet for humanity’s first home, whether they were anticipating a downfall or were indeed just cognizant of man’s initial departure in the first place and attempted to facilitate the return exodus. Although not officially a group until the rapidly deteriorating situation on Mars in the early 2800s, there existed a group of colonies and PLANTs that focused their sights not on continuing the status quo of chaos and destruction from Earth on Mars but instead on preparing humanity for anything that they may find when returning to Earth.
Starting by offering gene modification and organic augments to the people of Mars, CHORUS’ first step as a proper group was perfecting the creation of Coordinators, designer children. This would allow them more flexibility in their R&D, providing more varied bases rather than modifying existing organisms. This turned out to be immensely favorable when the Beta were discovered and subsequent dangers befell Mars. Taking the somewhat aging Mobile Suits of Earth, CHORUS fielded their enhanced and designed subjects to fight the new terrors of humanity. Eventually CHORUS created advanced Mobile Suits of their own, but like the rest of the day’s superweapons they ultimately fell short in finishing the mission against the Beta.
Now, with most of Mars singing their tune of leaving for Earth, CHORUS facilitates and aids those immigrating to the new old world, offering their same suite of modifications with a side of their advanced mobile suits.
Look and feel: Uniforms are stiff and stark white with high ranking heads and officers donning long coats evocative of both lab technicians and the gowns worn by members of a choir. The Mobile Suits fielded by CHORUS are largely as pristine as their owners, even those equipped with Phase Shift Armor such as their former flag the Freedom Gundam.
Other Information: PLANTs and Colonies besides Lunaedies tend to vary from the quantum computer equipped mobile suits that the headquarters fields, some more resource rich colonies have been experimenting with Gundanium production for example; the actual size of the forces that CHORUS deploys is remarkably small even if usually highly advanced, as such they tend to hire on contractors and facilitate mobile suit production for those under their wing; while democratic in structure, CHORUS is full of internal squabbling with the loudest and generally more influential voices being of more profit-minded types which leads to the organization seeming to care more for its customers, clients, and coordinators.
