Biography: Aos was an errant Liner without even a Headd to his name before Lord Eldes Vend found the ruffian and straightened him out. Lord Vend was a powerful and influential knight in his local system, though his aging body was beginning to catch up to his daring exploits. As such, Eldes tempered his house as much as possible before his inevitable passing; going so far as to induct outsiders into the house such as Aos. After Lord Eldes' passing, most members of the house failed to step up in any capacity, leaving Aos as the only one with the mettle to reunify and rally the house together.
While his leadership was effective, having an outsider take the lead caused the native members of the house to lose face and they began to conspire against Aos. They didn't have to wait terribly long; in a neighboring system, another local Lord had begun to exploit and terrorize the people in his lands. Effectively unbidden, Aos ventured out and slew the despot with his Bangdoll, however unbeknownst to him the conspirers had followed him and destroyed local settlements and fled to pin the damages on the outsider.
For the total damages and through the machinations of his enemies, Aos was exiled from the Joker cluster; the penal vessel stranding him in the Sol system with nothing but his Mortar Headd and his Fatima, Io.

Biography: Fashioned after a famous Meight's late daughter, Io was gifted to Lord Eldes after the novel catharsis had run its course with the Meight. After Eldes' death his Fatimas were left to various members of the Vend House, with Io ending up with Aos as her new master.
Even before becoming Aos' Fatima Io rarely spoke, even to Lord Eldes. But even in exile, Io hasn't said a word to Aos. While this may be insubordination for the average Headdliner, Aos can't bring himself to correct the false daughter's behavior; in the end, Io has at least followed her orders and aided her new master extensively on Earth.
