Biography: Born to an eccentric traveling scholar and a woman looking to settle away from the hustle and bustle of Costa del Sol, Inaa was born in the secluded village of Fallgourd Float. Inaa took almost unnaturally to the craggy mountains around the village growing up, spending most of her free time when not fooling around with the other village children scaling the cliffs to stare out across the expanses of clouds and the canopy of the Black Shroud and collect stones, crystal shards, and Bomb ash to sell for pocket money.
One day, three men in strange armor and bearing spears appeared in the village. As they left, talk around the town was of these "Dragoons" hunting something called a "Dravanian" that had escaped from the Coerthas border past their guards. Inaa didn't think much of it and went for another trip to the cliffs. While there scraping up and bagging Bomb ash, the loose Dravanian appeared before her. Fleeing from the great reptile, Inaa was forced up higher and higher but to no avail against the flying creature. As she was about to be struck by the Dravanian, cornered and cowering, she closed her eyes and heard the creature shriek followed closely by metal meeting stone. She saw only a glimpse of a Dragoon as she looked up in surprise, the man having jumped up to her position and spring boarding off the spear embedded into the rock, but in that moment she saw not just an Ishgardian soldier but a majestic dragon coming to her rescue. The Dragoon lept up after the Dravanian and slew it in midair; he and his compatriots escorting the young Miqo'te back to the village.
The image of her savior burned into her brain, Inaa dedicated her life to becoming like them. The event caused a quite stir and a new game of "playing Dragoon" among the children arose, but as the other children grew and tired of the fad Inaa continued to keep the spirit of the game close to heart. At a more mature age, Inaa joined Gridania's Lancer guild and went on to both terrify and inspire the other members with her high flying enthusiasm, much to the chagrin of her instructors and mentors. Her rambunctious and taxing training caused her to be given independent learning out in the field where, in her off time, she hung around with the Ixal tribe where she discovered her kindred spirits in a love for heights.
Naturally when her Ixali companions approached the lancer with the opportunity to test their latest experimental airship Inaa could do nothing but accept. Sailing out off of the North Shroud's cliffs, Inaa quickly became lost in excitement and crossed the border into Coerthas; the craft's powerful experimental, wind aspect driven engine easily streaked into the mountainous expanses within minutes. Unfortunately, Inaa's fantastic voyage was interrupted by the appearance of Dravanians; the winged menaces tailed her airship and the experience from her childhood rearing its head caused her to panic at the helm and bring the craft down into the rocky highlands. Managing to snap out of it at the last moment, Inaa was able to crash relatively unharmed. However, the Dravanians continued to close in.
Steeling herself and channeling the image of the heroic Dragoon in her mind, Inaa fought with spear in hand and drove the Dravanians back. The local guards finally arrived to find the spent lancer standing over the body of one of her pursuers. Inaa looked up to see the men and collapsed at the sight of very familiar armor. Recuperating in the guard post, Inaa explained herself but couldn't keep herself from gushing over the presence of a Dragoon. The man was impressed at the girl managing to defend herself against a group of Dravanians alone and even dispatch one of them, so he humored the young lancer and offered to train her as a Dragoon. For the second time that day, Inaa couldn't refuse.
The time eventually came in the Dragoon trainees' course for a scheduled examination for overall skill and a customary check with a dragon's eye. Much to the surprise of everyone involved, the eye reacted as it passed over Inaa. Now the Miqo'te has been thrust into the role of Ratatoskr's Dragoon when all she ever wanted was to fly like one.

The Coerthas Ixali, who both witnessed the crash and sent back whatever they could salvage to the Black Shroud, offered some ideas of their own regarding the wind aspect engine to prevent such landings and improve maneuverability such as vernier vents for vertical thrust and a more streamlined and responsive topsoil. Thus, Inaa's short lived but beloved Highwind was born anew.
