Fury cascaded, bouncing like a mirror as the younger Gran Cher followed the lead of its 'sibling' as instructed, already carried away by the waves of violence before and continuing to be swept under the continuous contempt for the self declared hunter of this declared prey, the Princess as well joined in fury as the waves of emotion followed through. As the thing screamed, as Dahlia screamed as her heart pumped and beat against her chest in deafening symphony the eyes of the Princess were on the horrid display in front of her, her synchronized actions with the Gran Cher continued as the adrenaline wore off.

This led to her and it stumbling backwards. The blade gently removing itself from the carcass now in front of them. She was feeling sickened by the gory display, the smoldering remains as the beat of the drums that were her heart racketed through her mind. Never before in her life had she seen something like this, the walls of Orphan were organic and in their own way grotesque but a melting bug turning into slag before her eyes. She could feel the churning of her stomach in response. The instincts that had fueled her the past minutes, the feelings she couldn't place on where they came from. It all coalesced in a moment as the tide of it all began to recede.

She did it, she did as the Gran Cher asked and killed it.
"Dahlia?" She asked after a moment "Wh-what was that thing?"

Her eyes moved up, their targets were leaving but left behind some of their prizes. Enough to fulfill the mission from the Garleans, but there were patrols that would inevitably return here. What were they going to do now, were they still in a state to fight those returning bandits.

As the smoldering remains of the Vajra drooped away in all its molten, gelatinous horror, Dahlia knew it wasn't the last time she'd be seeing the image before her. The nightmares to come, she was sure, would ensure she would never forget it. A sudden cold overtook her, and she sunk back into her seat, shuddering. How much energy had she used up?

"...I don't know." She said, barely more than a whisper.

"But... I heard it, somehow. Not... quite speech, but..."

She lapsed into an exhausted, confused silence... and closed her eyes. In her hands, she held Magnolia protectively... but couldn't get her trembling fingers to stroke the poor, equally terrified animal's body to reassure it. Opting to let it slide... Dahlia slumped against the controls, and tried instead not to think.

Outside, the red Gran Cher drifted closer to its sibling. It reached out... and took its hand in its own, gnarled fingers gently. A small gesture of comfort between those cut from the cosmos above, adrift in a strange world, with nothing but one another for company. Today, it had spilled blood for the first time. In many cultures, a ritual of adulthood.

Among Antibodies... who could say?

One word stayed imprinted on her mind. One that had been clear as day.

Prey.
