Organization Name: Serritor
Type: MS Hunter
Established: AI0022
Base of Operations: Belt Federation
Other Details:

- Primarily composed of X-Rounders

History: The first officially-recognized group originating out the asteroid belt under the MS Hunter program. Initially approved mostly as a gesture of goodwill by the various Jovian governments toward the burgeoning Belt Federation, Serritor has built a minor reputation as a dependable group capable of solving particularly sticky problems in innovative - if sometimes questionable - ways. Willing to take on jobs outside the normal scope of MS Hunters. Named for the minor helper-god to the mythical Ceres: Serritor, "He who digs". A suitable moniker for the group, as most of their members are scavengers by nature and not above picking up some extra salvage to sell on the side during their official activities.

Biography:

Coming into the world on the edge of humanity's victory over the the Machines, it hardly needs to be said that the first years of Theresa's life were tumultuous times. Furthermore, her mere place of birth would be enough to attach a stigma to the girl. Unlike the majority of the Jovian Sphere's inhabitants she was not born among the colossal giga floats of Europa, the ever-blazing forges of Io, or some other such location. No, her place of genesis was among the many rocky planetoids of the asteroid belt, among a unique subset of the human race which the majority of their spaceborne cousins viewed with disdain: X-Rounders. More specifically growing up in the chaotic and ever-expanding settlements drilled deep into the surface of Ceres, her personal experience for those three years between birth and the end of the Insurrection War were mercifully bereft of incident.

And so did things continue apace once the Machines were made dormant. In several years' time the growing Belt Federation began to tentatively open trade and reconnect with the rest of the Jovian Sphere. Theresa - "Tessa" for everything that wasn't a legal document - while still young, was by this point of an age where it was practical for her to accompany her parents on long-haul flights, and so had the fortune of being among the first domestic travelers to experience the world outside their borders in decades. The wanderlust she would experience later in life, a distinct unwillingness to remain within the Federation's confines, was perhaps a consequence of experiencing this new world with a child's sense of wonder and curiosity. Trips to and from other locations in the solar system rapidly picked up, and as the girl aged she seized any chance she could to expand the breadth of her travels.

Unsurprisingly for a population in which some 87% of the population exhibited special abilities, as Tessa grew into the cusp of adulthood she took was identified as one who possessed the genetic disposition of an X-Rounder, though her abilities had yet to manifest in earnest. And as was customary for a society that had heavily depended upon such machines so early in their existence, young adulthood meant training with a mobile worker. The young miss Marte took to piloting like a fish to water (the phrase had stuck around even though none of them had ever really seen a fish) and thus on the very day that she came of proper age later in her teens she was headed out with a salvage crew to comb through drifting remnants of the War long past. Doing so was a lucrative business as most of the wreckage in their region of space, due both to the threat of dormant AI Machines and its distance from the rest of civilization, remained largely untouched by Vultures. Unfortunately...dangers abound in such relics themselves as well. Accidents were a matter of when, not if.

Left to their own devices unspent munitions had a tendency to degrade and become rather unstable, and this was exactly what happened. An accidental detonation at point blank during a routine salvage run caused extensive damage to Tessa's mobile worker. All said, the machine's reinforced cockpit block *did* succeed in saving her life - but not in preventing debris from spalling inward. While she was able to react quickly enough to shield her torso and head, doing so resulted in severe trauma to her limbs. The young woman - not quite twenty, an adept pilot, and with the promise of a solid career ahead of her - woke up days later as a quadruple amputee.

While the damage was truly extensive, all was far from lost. Advancements in medical science meant that fitment of highly advanced prostheses was a procedure that, while not perhaps commonplace, had nestled into some measure of mundanity. It was a stroke of luck that that day's salvage operation had been a government-subsidized affair: the Cererian state provided virtually no resistance in covering the entire cost of her medical procedures and rehabilitation as recompense. On the other hand...even with their backing, lack of resources and knowledge of actually producing prosthetic devices meant that the replacement limbs she received were, not to put too fine a point on it, less than stellar. But she would persevere nonetheless, adapting slowly but steadily to this new life of hers...but unable to shake a vague, lingering grudge against those whose bodies were not so crippled. Those who had come to be known colloquially as 'government cyborgs' were particularly irksome, being individuals with similar disfigurements yet provided the best cybernetics science could provide regardless of cost or difficulty.

Now, it could be said that Tessa had developed something of a...gray morality by this point in her life. While not engaging in actions that were outright criminal, she had something of a penchant for bending the rules a bit. Coloring outside the lines as it were, but toeing them closely enough to avoid repercussions. Adopted a bit of a mercenary attitude regarding the ethicality of the contracts she was willing to take on. But nothing she had experienced or been offered would even come close to placing her at the sort of moral event horizon she would later encounter by absolute chance. A small shuttle, powerless and adrift among the debris, encountered during a routine reconnoiter of an area before they bothered to bring the big salvage vessels in. Inside? Two inert bodies, seemingly victims of a sudden loss of atmosphere. One, a relatively well-known but otherwise unimportant politician from Europa. And the other, his bodyguard...one of the government cyborgs she had come to so loathe, his form loaded to the gills with shiny chrome. The right thing to do of course was document the scene of the accident and return both unfortunate individuals to their government. Simply thankful for closure that was never expected to come, gratitude came in the form of a substantial monetary gift.

It really was a shame that unscrupulous Vultures had beaten her there and pilfered the bodyguard of all his expensive, military-grade cybernetics, wasn't it?

One visit to an outlaw tech chop-shop (and most of her thank-you cash, sadly) later, with her new 'toys' Tessa was suddenly faster, stronger, and tougher than even her own lofty expectations had predicted. Sure, her new limbs may have been a bit, well, stolen. But that cyborg hadn't exactly been using them anymore, had he? This...this was karma for the harm she'd suffered through no fault of her own. An opportunity had been lain at her feet and she had elected to take it.

While the scavenging Vultures tended to stay out of the asteroid belt due to the dangers it presented, the adventurous few did find their way into the Federation's territory - and that proved to be a few too many. Following in the footsteps of the other Jovian governments, an internal registration system that was a practically-identical copy of the 'MS Hunter' program was put together. Volunteers were recruited from far and wide among the peoples of Ceres, Vesta, and Pallas and a rigorous testing regimen put into place to cut the crowd down to a reasonable size. Tessa passed with flying colors, earning her a place among the newly-assembled defensive forces of the Belt. Beyond prestige, the position meant free access to the Federation's secretive homegrown mobile suit program and a ship to use on patrol. She was named Hygiea, after the largest of the uncolonized asteroids.

It wasn't long after that talks began in earnest to integrate the Federation into the politics of the greater Jovian Sphere. As a gesture of goodwill ,and because they could use all the help they could get, one of the first steps was meshing the Belt and Sphere MS Hunter registration lists. As a result, Serritor - named after a minor helper-god to Ceres - by default became one of the first MS Hunter groups registered as originating out of the asteroid belt.

In the three years since, Serritor has grown into a significantly larger operation, with Tessa gathering a ragtag band of similar-minded individuals. While they've made quite a name for themselves among the Federation's inhabitants, they remain largely unknown beyond Cererian borders...a fact that the X-Rounder intends to rectify.

Mobile Weapons: ovw-dc-2gc Wrozzo R; xvm-mzc Zeydalus R

Combat Style: Onslaught
Strengths: Strike fast, strike hard. Tessa excels in the operation of assault-type mobile suits: large and heavy units that achieve high mobility through sheer weight of thrust. She has a talent for extracting every last ounce of mobility from a machine. An almost instinctual understanding of 'throwing her weight around' and precise limb control to utilize AMBAC combined with deft propulsion balancing can result in maneuvers that exceed a unit's normal design parameters. Enhanced spatial awareness and resistance to gee-forces courtesy of being an X-Rounder compliment these skills.

Weaknesses: Opponents who manage to blunt Tessa's initial aggression may find her put on the back foot; she doesn't deal well with losing the momentum behind her rushdown and assault. Accordingly anything that can indefinitely keep distance and bombard her from range are a serious threat. She's accustomed enough to utilizing machines with X-Rounder-specialized systems that losing that additional degree of control in a conventional unit notably impacts her ability to carry out her usual tactics.

Enso Unit

A team within the Belt Alliance primarily responsible for the live-fire testing of new Mobile Suits based on Belt-exclusive technology. Founded on the desire for not only self-sufficiency, but to create Mobile Suits that would be designed from the ground up for X-Rounder use, the Zahak Project was initiated in AI 0015 in secret far from prying eyes, deep in the Asteroid Belt on Gaspra 951. Pilots were fully drawn from those who were furthest from the Jovian Sphere, and whose loyalty to the Alliance would be unquestionable.

Technology was not drawn from any existing base, but on salvage found in the furthest reaches of the belt, using “O-Parts” believed to have been developed during the war. Rather than handheld weapons, standardized internally mounted weaponry was prioritized, eschewing the need for specialized armament in favor of speed and reliability. Experimental technology such as Magnetic Armor, Invisible Umbrella, and specialized operating systems and components sensitive to X-Rounder brainwaves were all rolled into the project, resulting in a truly alien appearing collection of machines that bore little resemblance to those in the hands of the major Jovian powers.

The ovv-f Gafran was developed in AI 0017, and followed by the Baqto in AI 0019 and the Zedas in AI 0020. Their usage was entirely constrained to within the Federation’s airspace, the long-range cruising forms ideal for arduous treks between settlements and venturing deep into unknown territory in search of illegal mining operations.

It wasn’t long before rumor began to circulate among Vulture groups that there were “dragons” that lived in the Belt, preying on squatters and vagabonds that settled in their territories, subsequently driving raiding activity to record lows and spurring further development. The latest generation of X-Rounder exclusive machines has been provided to Serrator for its mission, the first time they have been authorized for use outside of the belt.

Notable Members

Name: Owen Koenig
Age: 36
Gender: Male
Height: 6’3
Weight: 210lbs
Eye Color: Brown
Hair Color: Black
Ethnicity: European descent
Appearance: View attachment 101
Classification: X-Rounder

Biography:

The elder of the two Koenig brothers, Owen was born to a prominent Ceres mining family. While at a young age, he was groomed to enter the world of politics, the family fell into terrible misfortune following the explosive collision of a refinery vessel with Ceres’ surface as a result of a Vulture raid, causing mass poisoning across the asteroid’s surface.

Still, the young man endured the events with aplomb, his education being cut short as he left home to join the military, his younger brother following suit years later. Thanks to his exceptional performance as a scout, and proficiency at protecting resource convoys and uprooting squatters, he was recruited into the Zahak Project and would subsequently form the Enso Unit after successfully arguing that the Federation could not effectively develop its own technology in a vacuum.

He is a strong supporter of Tessa Marte and Serritor’s right hand man, a jovial and otherwise upbeat natural leader who knows his role, and aims to do it well.

Mobile Weapon: xvm-dgc Khronos

Combat Style: Ringleader
Strengths: Owen is usually the first to step up when something needs to get done, effortlessly directing those around him with confidence and practiced ease. His talent as a pilot is considerable, and his X-Rounder abilities are second only to his brother Roen's, making them a force to be feared on the battlefield when fought together. His shooting ability is better than average due to considerable practice at the range, and he's excellent at picking off foes from a distance with trick shots that maximize the use of his skillset.
Weaknesses: Owen isn't anything above average when it comes to close combat, and his general need to get involved in a battle and to follow his orders to the letter makes him somewhat inflexible. His strength as an X-Rounder has, for the most part, plateaued and he struggles to excel any further in that region. Lastly, he works best in a team - and alone, without anyone to question his decisions, may act rashly or impulsively on account of his fierce loyalty.

Name: Roen Koenig
Age: 24
Height: 5’3
Weight: 132 lbs
Ethnicity: German descent
Appearance:

Classification: X Rounder
Other Information:
Vocal likeness: Romi Park

Biography:

The younger of the Koenig brothers, Roen is more taciturn, thoughtful, and prudent compared to his brother, often following in his wake and left to pick up the pieces. Independent and somewhat headstrong, he often disappears for lengths of time before resurfacing, an occurrence that hardly seems to bother his squadmates, perhaps due to its regularity. Despite their differences, and that they are frequently at loggerheads, they are practically inseparable and care for one another deeply, the loss of one would be inconsolable to the other.

He wears body-concealing clothing, which hides a mask of design unique to X-Rounders in the belt who are of particularly extraordinary power, allowing their Mobile Suits to keep up with their abilities and as an additional check against potentially excessive feedback. While overload is a concern among X-Rounders even in the current day, to go to such an extent is still considered unusual, even among their peers.

Still - he is reliable, loyal, and though often curt and blunt, speaks with the best interests of the group in mind while still keeping his distance - in all likelihood, due to an incident that took place during his youth, though this is spoken of seldom between the two of them.

Mobile Weapon: xvm-zgc Zeydra

Combat Style: Cerebral
Strengths: Roen is a pragmatic, almost opportunistic fighter who prefers to strike with the element of surprise. Whether it’s using the environment to his advantage, diversionary tactics, or otherwise taking advantage of some unforced error, he’s adept at closing in and maximizing an advantage. Swift on his feet and precise, X-Rounder weaponry fortifies and accentuates his senses, making him easily the most proficient user of them on the team.
Weaknesses: Sometimes not everything is as it seems. Roen can be baited into striking early through a feint, or otherwise outflanked by a foe that is prepared for his arrival. He doesn’t prefer to fight out in the open, and a foe that fights with confidence and with little in the way of exploitable blind spots can quickly have him beating a swift retreat.

Name: Clio Harcrow
Age: 24
Gender: Female
Height: 5’1
Weight: 131lbs
Eye Color: Brown
Hair Color: Auburn
Ethnicity: European descent
Appearance:

Classification: Oldtype
Theme:

Biography:

Originating from the Dunne Regio plane on Gaspra, Clio serves as both an engineering representative of the distant asteroid and test pilot. Due to Gaspra’s extremely remote location, her upbringing was comparatively sheltered, and she would frequently listen to stories from those who visited from abroad as a child, driving her to enlist as a pilot as soon as she reached the minimum age.

Her success at the controls of a Gafran in driving out raiders led her to devise strategies to minimize losses of human life, as well as draw out further potential from the machine by optimizing maintenance routine timing between patrols, changes that were broadly adopted across the Federation, and which led to her being selected for the formation of Serrator.

Initially shy and somewhat awkward, her mousey appearance belies a bubbly girl who has become the heart of her unit, a face of constant optimism always willing to try something new and exciting. She is particularly enamored with arcade cabinets, and will drag others to play the latest rhythm game whenever they hit port, spending her hard earned paycheck practically overnight.

Mobile Weapon: Digel

Combat Style: Heartful
Strengths: Clio is a primarily a supporter in combat, adaptive and able to fit into most roles fairly comfortably - behind the controls of the Digel, for example, she serves as a shield to her teammates, sticking up front and serving as a vanguard - but will cheerfully adapt to any assigned role, booking up on the optimal strategies for each.
Weaknesses: Clio closely researches her own role within a team and can typically perform it well, her tendency to focus on niche roles can lead to being surprised or otherwise unprepared when another on the team doesn’t do their job, making her ad-hoc decision making skills questionable at best. She isn’t a natural X-Rounder, and has developed something of an inferiority complex regarding it, which can put her at a disadvantage on a closely knit team.
