History: Garlemald was established following the Dragon War and Nidhogg's defeat. They started off small, focused on developing technology for the betterment of the world. They were the forerunners in anti-eikon technology, developing methods for defeating them. Once, they had an alliance with the rest of Hydaelyn... until they embraced the destructive art of summoning. From this betrayal, Garlemald grew into the militaristic nation it is today. Slowly, they pushed outward, expanding in an endless conquest to bring all the world under one banner and eliminate the harmful practice of summoning. Their priorities shifted to Magitek weaponry.

Soon enough, ancient technology was unearthed and fell into their hands. Research into these WEAPONs began, first restoring and understanding the goliaths until the first, Ultimate WEAPON, was ready. However, resources were diverted from the project before live testing of Ultimate could begin. A strange gate was opened, allowing Garlemald to eventually push through into another world, rife with devestation and destruction. Here, they used the chaos to gain a foothold on Earth, supporting the survivors of the Yellowstone Incident of the lands they conquered. Eden, a construct of unknown origin to the Empire, restored the land of New Garlemald before moving on to the rest of earth.

Once Project EDEN was more or less complete in New Garlemald, they began expanding further outward until eventually they were forced to stop by new enemies arising. Resources were restored to the WEAPON project, allowing them to bring Ultimate WEAPON through the gate for support to hold their land and slowly resume their expansion. Efforts in development of the other WEAPONs began in earnest shortly after.

Appearance: Magnus looks older than he is; his face worn with worry and stress. He has several old battle scars, standing out as pale marks marring his dark and toned body. The white pearl of his third eye stands out starkly against his skin. His dark chestnut hair is kept close shaved in a military cut. Like his line before him, his eyes burn bright amber orange. In combat he wears heavy black and gold trimmed armor, armed with a large bastard sword style gunblade.

Biography: Magnus is the only son of the previous emperor, Caeso Zos Deus. Like his forefathers, he was groomed from birth to eventually rule Garlemald. He spent his youth in service to his country, proving himself on the battlefield. Following the death of the Emperor in the Battle of Ala Mhigo, Magnus took the throne. Despite his position, he continued to fight on the front lines with his men. It was Magnus who redirected efforts into the WEAPON initiative. Following a close relationship with the lead on the project, he married Aelia Nan Cato. Together, they had two children; Casius Yae Deus and Mila Wir Deus.

Appearance: Aelia is often seen in a labcoat with her hair pinned up in a bun. When not in a lab coat, she embraces her station and indulges in expensive fabrics and current styles. With access to Earth, she has access to the expensive foreign makeups.

Biography: Aelia worked her way through the ranks of researchers, studying hard since early in life. Finally, she managed to land the lead role in the WEAPON program, headlining the experimentation with Oversoul. Her position lead to working closely with Emperor Deus. Naturally, their relationship grew closer over time, loving the freedom and encouragement he gave her. She accepted when he proposed to take her as his wife. She birthed two children to him as fulfilling her obligations, then resumed her work. Despite both being busy, they remain close and try to do things together when possible. She is a loving and doting wife and mother, but will put her work over her family. With WEAPON nearing completion, she is busier than ever.

Biography: Casius is the youngest of the royal family, and the heir to Magnus Zos Deus. Being young and naïve, he has easily been influenced to favor his own nation. He is unquestioning in his father's rule and eagerly drinks in the propaganda put forth by the Empire.

Appearance: Aceline's dark skin contrasts sharply with her white hair. She has a scar running across her face and long pointed ears poking from her hair. She proudly wears her uniform most days, though in her down time prefers plainclothes of lighter colors.

Biography: Aceline's family was captured and inducted into the empire, like so many others when she was young. The treatment of conscripts improved when Magnus ascended to the throne. She was given chances and opportunities the previous reign would never have allowed in a mutt like her. Under Magnus' leadership, she flourished, a black rose on the battlefield, nourished by the blood of the Empire's enemies. She climbed the ranks, defending Castrum Athens from incursion with fervor. Ultimately, Magnus trusted her to operate as Legatus of the 10th Imperial Legion and a relic from her homeland.

Appearance: Like many Lalafell, Cornelius resembles an evil popoto. His hair is kept in a military cut and he is rarely seen without a serious expression on his face.

Biography: Cornelius, like many in the Empire's territories, was born half Garlean, including the strange pearl like third eye. Indoctrinated by the propaganda and nationalism, Cornelius joined the army when he came of age and worked his way up the ranks. He is one of the youngest to reach the rank of Legatus, but not due to his skills or military prowess. He earned the position by being one of the few who happily volunteered to reside in the secret Castrum Terreatus.

History: Ultima was discovered in a cache of Allag technology. Research began on the machine shortly after it's discovery, kept hidden in the heart of Garlemald. Powering the machine was difficult, Ceruleum not being enough for the system until a mysterious hooded figure appeared and granted the Heart of Sabik, a highly aetheric charged dark gemstone. Before testing could fully begin, the gates to earth were opened and funding for the WEAPON project was diverted away. Ultima's test run was performed invading the foreign world. Despite the success of Ultima's test runs, the project was put completely on hold long enough that it was mostly forgotten about. Research continued independently on the machine and the power source.

When Emperor Magnus Zos Deus ascended to the throne, funding was restored to the WEAPON project. Ultima was reinstated as the lead machine of the Anti Eikon forces, deployed when need arises, awaiting the day it's descendants to take to the battlefield along side it.

History:

When Emperor Magnus Zos Deus ascended to the throne, funding was restored to the WEAPON project. Thanks to the researcher of Ultima and the Heart continuing on as a hobby, the secret to the machine's design appeared to have been cracked. Replicating the anti Eikon weapon took priority, altering the systems to work with a more common power source... until the Heart was successfully replicated. But the problem of pilots experiences arose. To compensate for this, data was gathered from their best and brightest, recording every bit they of the combat prowess of their subjects. Utilizing that data, however, was the problem.

The oversoul system was developed, using a synthetic Auricite manufactured within Garlemald. Unfortunately, unit 01 was ultimately a failure when oversoul was activated, the instability of Auricite and Ceruleum resulting in an explosion that killed the test pilot and destroyed the machine. Unit 02 suffered a similar fate, though activated in the safety of the Burn without a pilot to be vaporized with it. Unit 03 saw success with the additionof the replicated Heart of Sabik, though suffered several mechanical failures. Unit 03 was reborn again and again as units 04 and 05, each version better than the last, yet still imperfect. Unit 06 saw some modicum of success, the test subject this time fused with the machine and Auricite rather than outright dying. Using the Auricite to relay the data, loyalty was programmed into the PoW pilot, who is unfortunately sustained now by the Heart.

History:

Following the failures of the prototypes, the first of several successful WEAPONs was created. Arch Ultima remains truer to the original design. The cockpit mounted in the back of the head for the pilot, while a second cockpit has been installed elsewhere on the machine. Inside, a sacrificial lamb selected from Garlemald's POWs or convicts is sealed with the synthetic Auricite Oversoul System. The pilot controls the machine up until Oversoul is activated. Once active, control shifts to the contained victim.

The data loaded into the Auricite overtakes the personality of the victim, warping them into a replicant of the base model. The victim's mind merges with the WEAPON, able to move and react as if the bio-mechanical body was their own. This merging of mind and metal poses a deadly combination. The WEAPON's loadout changes depending upon what data will be loaded to the machine in the event of oversoul. The victim is capable of surviving within the containment for several hours after oversoul is activated. Unfortunately, the damage to the body is catastrophic and gruesome, leaving the victim unfit for an open casket funeral.

Magitek Slash: The Colossus slams its sword down, dealing damage in a cone area and leaving behind a fiery puddle.

History:

An amalgamation of Alag tech and Garlean ingenuity, the Magitek Colossus is a standard use machine available to the common soldier. It is large and lumbering, but sturdy and powerful. The Colossus was developed as a means to mop the battlefield of particularly obstinate rebellions, insurgents, and monsters. Due to the cost to produce, they are not as mass produced or deployed as often as other magitek.
