History:

The Order of Isengrim was founded at an uncertain point during the Insurrection War by remnants of various military units, banding together to fight back against the Praetorian menace. Known as the Crusaders, they were better organized, trained, and armed than most wayward groups, and through the sacrifices of many great heroes in their ranks were a central part of the effort to seal away the machines, before ultimately drifting apart as the After Insurrection Era loomed, their numbers decimated by constant battle.

Starting in AI 0023 however, the Order was reformed under one of its founders as a Hunter cadre, mostly using materials salvaged from shoal zones on the outskirts of PLANTs - among them several Ahab Reactors. The Order researched several of its own designs, and produced a new variant of Mobile Suit - the Graze - based on the legendary Valkyrja Frames of old. This time, however, their goal was much more broad than simply protecting the populace - it was to unify the Jovian sphere under their enlightened, militaristic rule.

Biography:

Founder of Isengrim's reincarnation, Reynard Armiger was raised in the company of the great heroes. He lived to see the slow dissolution of the Order, and its slide into irrelevancy - his own family, central among their ranks, suffered from the fall perhaps worse than any other, slipping into abject poverty. Still, his mother raised him with great care - he had been engineered to be warrior from birth, gifted in both body and mind, and her strict tutelage served him well. By working hard, the two were able to restore themselves to a semblence of their former wealth, eking out a living in the Octobre Plant, still in posession of the (albeit now run down) manor that had once served as the Order's glorious headquarters.

Reynard would spend endless hours in archives, piecing together footage of old battles, scrutinizing textbooks, replaying them and watching them, over and over. He learned to pilot a Mobile Suit as part of his studies, opting for a twin-bladed style in imitation of the great heroes of old - no brutal, smashing hunk of metal, but refined, elegant menace that proved mankind was more than a simple ape. In those frames, in the recorded desperation of battle and war, he found what he was searching for: Purpose. A realization.

People needed something to believe in.

They needed heroes.

Jupiter needed a hero. Someone to bind it all back together, to stem the bleeding, to clean the wound, and to reunite a disparate people.

Isengrim would rise again, and this time, it would not relinquish its might so readily. No - the great heroes of war would take what was rightfully theirs.

Mobile Weapon: EB-06r Graze Ritter Commander

Combat Style: Finesse
Strengths: Savagery and barbarism have no place on the battlefield for Renard. His lead-from-the-front disposition is not meant only to allow for ad-hoc management of his allies, but also to inspire them to greater heights - he does this through spectacular displays of precision and whiplike speed, gracefully dismantling a foe by striking their weak points and darting through their clumsy counterattacks. Moreover, he makes for an excellent tactician and shot-caller, maintaining a level head at all times.
Weaknesses: Sometimes, the best option is the simplest. Avoiding brutality is fine and good, but it can result in not having sufficient force to dispatch a foe swiftly, causing drawn out fights. Reynard is also at heart a close combatant - he prefers to be right in the fray, almost seeming to regard firearms as something of a nuisance - something to merely preoccupy him until he's able to get in close, making him something of a more specialized combatant than he would otherwise realize.

Biography:

A former street urchin, one of hundreds of thousands left orphaned after the Insurrection, Donovan Tindal was brought into the fold by Reynard Armiger during a hunt for recruits. Seeking an easy meal and used to operating a Mobile Worker, he applied to work for Isengrim simply seeking a paycheck. During mock battles however, Tindal refused to harm a disabled opponent - and subsequently was jumped in an alleyway by his earlier foe, who sought to get even for their loss. Fortunately, the passing Armiger came to his rescue, and the two drove off the assailants swiftly. In the aftermath, he was practically adopted into the Armiger household - and over the course of five years, taught to be a true gentleman.

During this time, Armiger told him - "I didn't take you because you were the strongest, but because you were the most noble and refined of the lot.". It was the first, and perhaps only time he felt as though his life had any meaning to someone.

Tindal's loyalty to Isengrim is second to none - in his mind, Armiger is a saviour for all mankind, a paragon of refinement who raised him up from a nobody into a somebody. As a consequence, he often accompanies Armiger both on and off the battlefield, where his council serves as valuable advice to his newfound liege.

Mobile Weapon: EB-06s Graze

Combat Style: Pragmatist
Strengths: Well, someone had to do it. Don can usually be found lugging around various heavy firearms and ranged weaponry, providing distant support to Reynard and other allies. Surprisingly, he's no slouch up close either - rather than the battle sword, he prefers the swift, decisive strike of the axe, more comfortable than his liege at bludgeoning a persistent foe into the ground. An excellent wingman and well-rounded combatant overall.
Weaknesses: Oil and water seldom mix well. While Don works well in tandem with others, on his own he doesn't stand out particularly much, and his skills aren't anything particularly special, outside of a slightly improved sense of spatial awareness. As a consequence, he can be overwhelmed by those with a more definite specialty.

Biography: A longtime friend of the Armiger estate, the Reade family fought alongside their contemporaries during the Insurrection, only to later drift off as a result of internal disagreements. Young Edra was a childhood friend of Reynard's and the two would ultimately reconnect years later as he searched for any remaining allies he could make use of.

Combat Style: Taccom
Strengths: Though a capable combatant in her own right, Edra shines mostly when given the tools to manipulate the battlefield. Communications, area mapping, and providing mission control that can identify advantageous terrain, objectives, and the presence of allies is invaluable in the interference-thick planes of war, and her talents are excellent at keeping a team together, focused, and informed. When forced into a fight herself, she is surprisingly slippery, excellent at using her arsenal to disrupt, displace, and put distance between herself and a foe, gunning them down in a hail of well-placed bullets.
Weaknesses: Edra can get too easily focused on her own allies, and less so on the battlefield around her - as a result, she's more susceptible to ambushes and stealth attacks than usual. Her focus in combat is usually seeking to engage, and while she's able to go on the offensive when needed, it's nothing particularly special considering her pedigree.
