“So, how long do you plan on staying here if you manage to win?”

“Eh, who knows. Maybe you can replace me with the Nobel girl, I’m sure she’d make for a damn competent pilot if you’re that worried about me flaking on you guys.”

Walking down the corridors of the Battling Arena, the short haired Gundam Fighter flashed her co-pilot a massive, shit eating grin before she gave the older man a playful shove.

“Ah come on, it’s just gonna be one match. Not like I’m just going to leave you dweebs on your own. We’re a team now, aren’t we? We sat through all of that Gekiganger show for Gala, I’m not gonna call it quits just because my old job called me in.”

The well dressed man just chuckled, rolling a cigarette between his lips as while the pair entered into the “Ready Room”. Standing tall in the center of the room, almost like some kind of joke, was the Lumber Gundam.

“Ya know, I’ve seen a lot of dumb looking robots with even dumber names- but honestly the name might be the dumbest thing about this one.”

Suwa just shoved the old man aside, not really acknowledging his joke- Far too excited to get into the fight.

“Just make sure that Terry’s watching Gala. Remember the last time?”

That was all it took to get Hiroshi scrambling back to the entrance, quickly waving her luck, and letting her get into the zone…

“This is Fighter Suwa, Lumber Gundam is good to go, on standby for the match.”

"A sword on a stick, huh? Not really my thing, but it'll work."

"It's called a nagina-"

"Yeah, yeah. Just point me at the guys who need clobbered."

The man rubbed the bridge of his nose in consternation; this was going to end in a migraine at best, he could feel it. Whatever. As long as she did the job, it didn't matter who the hot-headed beastman they'd managed to recruit was or where she came from. She'd been cagey enough about her identity to come disguised - albeit in the oh-so-stereotypical oversized shades, baseball cap, and baggy clothes - and refuse to give a name. That at least was understandable given the nature of the task. Nobody was gonna die or anything, at least according to the plan, but some people were gonna get roughed up and what they were doing wasn't exactly condoned or particularly legal.

"Just...just get ready, please."

"Way ahead of ya!" The towering form of the Rising Gundam, the mobile fighter that they'd managed to 'acquire', took a stance and cut the air with a few experimental jabs. The wolf-woman hadn't a lick of experience in such a machine, but she'd have a natural advantage over a human to make up for it. They hoped. They'd given her an appropriately identity-concealing outfit and a moniker to match for her performance.

Please, for the love of god, let her be as competent as she boasted.

Emblazoned in the skintight mobile trace suit and ensconced in the Gundam's spacious cockpit, it was all Adenine could do to avoid fidgeting with anticipation. A fight! A good fight! They were making her wait until the match was underway to barge in; on one hand, the waiting was a real pain in the rear. But opposite that, getting to crash the party was way more fun than just walking out into the ring while someone yelled your name over a loudspeaker.

Yeah...yeah, this was gonna be great!

Things had taken a turn for the unexpected, and perhaps disappointing depending on the performance of her new opponent. But that was a judgement for later, for after the match. Sylvia looked out to the arena, stepping to her side was the Fatima.
"Well good news, we've already made some cash." She said to her companion, whose hands were closed together in faux silent prayer. An illegal fighting ring didn't often have merchandise but just like vultures hovered over corpses money attracted the greedy and using her image. or rather the image of her Gundam meant that a share of the profits were going into her pockets.

"That is excellent news ma'am. Byron has done the usual as well given the betting odds for this show." Eynde informed her, causing the woman to nod.

"Then I best do my part." She looked up at the Nobel Gundam, removing the cloak that hung over her and handing it to the Fatima. That trace suit thing never was comfortable when it came down, but it could have been way worse at least. She remembered the first times they'd done this, by now the Fatima knew better than to remark 'stay safe'. Which in and of itself was humorous.

She also remembered that annoying thing which had become part of the image, she never should have listened to that presenter. Inhaling deeply through her nose Sylvia marched the Nobel Gundam outside, placing a hand at her hips inside the cockpit the massive machine following suit. Then turning to the audience and striking the pose that had been associated with her marketing for these past years. A horizontal v symbol over one of her eyes.

How demeaning, but she endured it. A Lumber Gundam was her foe it seemed, two axes visible. She should assume vulcans as per tradition and maybe a trick or two extra. On her end once the pose was done, a stick catapulted up from the waist of her machine, landing in the v pose as she grabbed it mid air.
"Nobel Gundam."

She brought the stick down in a swing, plasma stretching out from it and clashing with the ground below. She still had no idea how this thing worked, and after all these years wasn't going to start complaining now. The rope like beam was grasped, with the free hand, stretching it as the Nobel Gundam stared down its foe.
"Ready!"

"Let's rumble then!"

Suwa felt the grin on her face starting to get sore, the excitement for the brawl already steadily rising. She had only watched video of maybe one of the Nobel's matches before stopping herself- After all, it wasn't exactly fair that her opponent couldn't do the same for her. With the vaguest idea of her opponent's range, the Lumber Gundam would perform it's own pose- Far from iconic, with it's two arms held at it's side, but very clearly still meant to be something.

"Grraaaahh-!"

The Brown Gundam lumbered forward, grabbing it's right axe and quickly entering into a spinning chop with it. It might not have been too effective with the Nobel's agility, but it was a flashy move to open up the battle with-

Meanwhile..

"It's such a beautiful spectacle, isn't it? Two creatures fighting for dominance."

"..To the death. The strongest survives to continue anew, and life continues on."

Two figures stood out among a small gap in the crowd - a growing aura of unease surrounding two spectators in particular. Nobody wanted to approach the couple sharing their own private moment, toting a pile of snacks that seemed to shrink with every passing minute. Neither seemed to be eating, but it could not be denied that all that popcorn was going somewhere.

"It's not quite perfect. There's no accounting for environmental factors. Outside predators..."

"Extinction events. Mass oxygenation. Ice ages."

"Us."

They shared a moment of silence, and then Guildenstern began to laugh. A harsh, guttural sound, akin to a malfunctioning blender. Throwing his head back in apparent amusement but never once moving his lips. It took some time for those emotions to settle, his gaze returning to the bulky frame of the Lumber Gundam. Rosencrantz mirrored his gaze, focusing herself on its more attractive competitor. Once the fight began in earnest they met in the middle, sharing a small nod.

"Perhaps not. We may as well see who triumphs first."

"Or if some outside pressure asserts itself. There always is some element of chance."

The Nobel Gundam leapt backwards, the off hand releasing the ribbon as the main hand's wrist engaged in motion. the long beam beginning to trail and spin resulting in the space formerly filled by the Gundam itself to now have a beam death spiral in its wake. One eager to tear into the Lumber Gundam should it get the opportunity to.
"Nice try but!"

The audience usually liked themselves a little show and a lot of showing off, sure a spin was a nice way to open from the Lumber Gundam but it gave her a rough idea of the exact range she aught to expect. Sylvia grinned inside the trace suit cockpit, well it was time to get people their money's worth.
In response the Nobel Gundam shifted its grip on the beam ribbon's hilt, the beam straightening to a much more 'normal' state. Akin to a beam saber except longer, like a garden hose being tweaked in its settings of spray.

The blade came down and then- the grip reversed. The 'sword' loosening into a ribbon once more and catapulting outwards like a whip, aiming to rend a section of the Lumber's face into a melted pile of scrap.
"Take this!"

It felt so genuinely thrilling to have a creative opponent in the ring- The exact thing that made fighting fun.

An adjustable beam saber wasn’t exactly something you saw every day, but it at the very least gave an idea of what might be best to work with- Suwa’s grin never left her face as her left arm raised to catch the ribbon.

Hah, nice moves! Mind sharing some ribbon tricks with my friend after the match?

The ribbon crackled and sizzled against the sheathed Heat Axe’s blade, saving the Gundam’s money maker for the time being. And to push the advantage, as the ribbon was preoccupied, Suwa did her best to shove her spiked shoulder into the Nobel-

People loved spectacle, that was true without needing to ask anyone to confirm or deny. That was also why the following would happen. As the ribbon clashed with the axe the Nobel Gundam's free hand went to its back, a yellow glow coming from behind as the machine's hand shifted to a half grip.
"Why thank you, I just might if you can make it worth my time." Her tone was playful, loud enough for the audience to listen along as it was amplified by the machine.

The coyness was... mostly part of the act. Mostly.
The Nobel Gundam's grip solidified, a circular object manifesting in the free hand. Like a disc. As the Lumber Gundam rushed in, its spikes embedding themselves into the Nobel's shoulder the Hula hoop of pure energy was brought upwards, aiming to cut the machine's second arm clean off of the torso as the crowd cheered.
Bastard's loved their rough and tumble battles, and she loved the steady income.

The basics of economics, providing them the goods they wanted for their cash. And they wanted one hell of a battle.
So they would have it.
"NOBEL, HULA HOOP!"

Like a buzzsaw it spun in the grip being brought up to face the weakest part of any machine, the joints. Where the spiked shoulder connected to the torso.

“GETTA GATLING!”

Oh, if this had been a match on foot, things might have turned out really bad for Suwa. But as luck would have it, Vulcans were just barely faster than the joints on both their Gundams.

As the extremely close range shots came for the Nobel’s head, Suwa and the Lumber would throw themselves backwards- their massive spiked shoulder taking the blow instead of the joint, sending the huge chunk of metal to the ground. The pain that followed through the Trace suit might as well have been as if the arm itself had come off- although the time to worry more about that would have to wait.

As nimbly as she could, the Lumber Gundam pulled it’s second axe free, taking a defensive stance.

“Not bad at all! You nearly had me there!”

Scraps of metal flew every which way, the pristine face of the Nobel Gundam partaking of the barrage of bullets for a moment before the fighter within ducked to avoid the remainder of the volley. Still, the shots that hit while lighter in damage than a punch still were small and bore into the frame. They were going to be a pain to repair for one and currently a migraine beyond belief.

"Seems you got some moves yourself as well." The Nobel Gundam readied the grip on the ribbon once more, pulling in as the Lumber Gundam retreated, with the first axe still having the ribbon wrapped around the force would be enough to disarm. Or dislocate an arm should her foe eagerly want to hold on.
"But we've only just begun!" The offhand was prepared with the hula hoop vanished into nothing, ready to catch either the axe if it was pulled back or to deck the Gundam itself in its money maker as retaliation.

"So why are you leaving already!"

Aw shit, I just realized I should have said eat lead-

The ribbon wrapped axe was pretty effortlessly tugged free this time round, with the Lumber Gundam running out of options to counter with. So as it stood, the Canadian robot took a resounding blow to the cranium, snapping off one of the V-Fins but good. Suwa was honestly in too good of a mood as she stumbled backwards. Was she just happy to be in the ring and getting paid whether she won or lost? Absolutely.

And don’t worry, I’m not going anywhere, not till our dance is done-

And without much over the top planning, Suwa attempted to return the favor with her now free hand-

Adenine's attention was focused raptly on the feed of the match being piped into her cockpit. The two were really getting into it now, sparks and metal alike flying. Her gaze shifted down to her erstwhile handler, the Gundam's mimicking the motion. He was watching the same visuals on a smaller screen, trying to gauge the most opportune time to spring their little surprise. The look on his face as he glanced up at the machine's motion made her ask the question she'd been holding back on -

"Time?"

"Time."

Excellent.

For something so big, it was surprisingly easy to conceal a mobile suit when such things were routinely moved in and out of an area. What was one extra covered truck, after all? Their little group had managed to obtain the use of a cavernous former hangar that was, ostensibly, empty and sealed shut. Not so much, though it did take a hefty shove from the fighter therein to grind the long-disused doors open. After that it was a straight shot to the arena not and not far, rumbling footfalls shaking the ground as the Gundam broke into a dead sprint...

"RRRRAAAAAAGH!"

The close competition between the pair of Gundams would be rudely interrupted by the silhouette of a third bounding high over the dilapidated wall of the arena accompanied by a mighty bellow. Color flashed down toward the pair as it descended, the red-hot blade of its naginata tracing an arc through the air to cut precisely down the middle between their frames as the mobile fighter crashed to the ground in tandem.

"No taking back remarks, you'll just have to save that one for the next time you pepper someone else in the face!" She exclaimed, catching the axe as she planned. Raising it up with the Nobel's arm as she too rushed forward. "This is it! Wait wh-" She turned to look at the source of the rumbling, a fist crashing into the side of the Nobel's face as the woman inside caught sight of the naginata wielding intruder. The screaming intruder allowing her clock to be thoroughly cleaned, polished and sent to the other side of the field.

The crowd was going absolutely wild at this however, last minute surprises always got them cheering. HOWEVER. This one wasn't on the schedule, at least. As far as she knew. With her external speaker off she spoke up.
"Eynde."

"Yes Miss?"

"Were we supposed to be interrupted?"

"No Miss."

"Please inform Carlton that this, yes, means he has to pay us more." She spoke in the calmest, yet most furious way she had. This was a championship match and that two bit organizer had let an intruder sneak in with a full Mobile Suit!

"As you wish."

During this short conversation the Nobel had recoiled, its other cheek bathed in the space dust below and the machine had subsequently flipped itself straight by virtue of its pilot performing some acrobatics, even if her right cheek now hurt. On the plus side, that left it far away from the Naginata. That was the Lumber's problem now.
"Sorry sweetie." She commented once more for all to hear "Signup ended long ago." The axe had escaped her grip during the impact and from the crouched position she could see it just behind her, that was fine for now. She still had the beam ribbon, the one that now shot towards the intruder's leg aiming to trap it, wrap it and then scrap it.
"Try again next season!"

The falling Naginata would find its sheathe in the shoulder of the lumbering Lumber Gundam, position shifted after decking the Nobel clear of the attack. Suwa howled in pain as her trace suit delivered the blow, arm going numb from the shock of it all. “Oh come on, where the hell do you get off jumping in when all the hard works been done?!”

The Lumber’s free arm grabbed onto one of the intruders, trying to pull her in close and keep them from moving long enough that the Nobel could try and get her own blow in. “Certainly a rude way to get an autograph-“ Suwa laughed, trying to force the naginata stuck-

A pleasant surprise that the naginata strike dealt damage, sinking into the Lumber's bulky shoulder with a satisfying hiss - Adenine had intended only to interject herself between the two. Catching the Gundam mid-strike was merely fortuitous timing. Her heels dug into the terrain, mobile fighter springing backwards with a bend of the knees to skip out of range of both retaliatory attacks. Quick on the draw, these two. Good.

"Done?" The Gundam swept the naginata across before itself, drawing a smoking arc in the ground, "All I see are two sub-par fighters flailing at each other until one falls down. Hardly anyone worth remembering, much less getting an autograph from." Truthfully, the beastwoman was having to put real effort into doing the taunting; hurling insults wasn't really her thing. But getting the two of them riled up as part of crashing the match had been in the job description, so she would oblige to the best of her ability. Didn't stop her from feeling apologetic about it all the same.

"Now which of you wants to lose to a real warrior first?" Adenine's free left hand rose, making a cheeky come hither motion at the pair. She could only hope that they'd both come at her at once.

"Some real warrior." She replied in turn, the ribbon while failing at catching the leg was still in motion, flicked forth to strike at the intruder's leg. "Looks like a third rate intruder, much less fighter." This hadn't been her first time dealing with interruptions. Very doubtful it was her last either for that matter, everyone wanted their five minutes of fame. Some of them got it.

The Nobel stood straight again, the free hand moving to the waist and grabbing the second beam saber. Parts of the 'hair' on the machine's side fell down, impacting the ground and leaving a small dust cloud as its now dented face was clearly visible.
"I wonder though." The beam flared to life, extending as she slammed it forwards towards the other leg. "Can you dance better than you fight?" Another slap, another swipe. Swift and encroaching further and further on the naginata wielding Gundam's space. Aimed solely at the legs of the machine in tandem with the words said.

At the very least the assault in that sense was 'honest', it was still a dance with two extended beams aiming to rip apart the legs of the Gundam but it remained just that for the time being. For the woman inside the Nobel however, it was equally a test to see what the person inside could do while part of a battle instead of having the element of surprise. That and the crowd loved a little show like this, they loved to see Hecklers and the like on the ropes and fighters messed with at the same time however, they loved to see hecklers win as well sometimes and intruders win. Showbiz truly was a cruel business, but that also was why she wasn't in it for the art.

“Ah, brave words from a coward and who had to crash a match.”

The Lumber Gundam, while struggling with its left arm mostly disable, was still far from finished. Rushing in towards the intruder, the Lumber would snag up its previously thrown Axe. Suwa knew her chances of beating both opponents at once were unlikely to start, but that didn’t mean she wasn’t going to help the one she respected to wreck ass.

The Mobile Fighter would heave itself upwards with a mighty jump, swinging down its tomahawk at the Rising, not wanting to afford it the chance to jump out of the Nobel’s beams.

The Rising Gundam did indeed dance under duress of Sylvia's assault, skipping backward one pace at a time in lockstep with the advancing beam ribbons. This Mobile Trace deal was certainly something Adenine could have gotten used to - as odd as the sensation was, it wasn't that far diverged from her Lazengann when it really came down to it. Just a little bit more of a workout.

Still, it was a good thing she was light on her feet to begin with.

"Do you one better, I can dance and fight at the same time!" This banter was getting a little ridiculous. The ports adorning the Gundam's head and collar flared as vulcans and machinecannons unleashed their payload, a solid burst of shellfire aimed indiscriminately toward the Nobel's head and chest to discourage the other fighter's advance for at least a moment. As for you, friend...! The naginata arced upward, a two-handed stab toward the Lumber Gundam. With its ill-advised leap the mobile fighter would deposit itself handily right onto the superheated blade lest the pilot alter their course.

"Cute. Least you can dance better." She commented, "But keep your eyes on your feet."

The Nobel's eyes were upon the Rising Gundam and the exchange before her eyes, a frown upon her features as she saw what was to come. Sylvia recoiled her arm as she felt the pelting on her chest, not enough to sustain anywhere near serious damage but certainly annoying. But the whiplike beam shot outwards, catapulting itself as the naginata began motion aiming to wrap around the polearm and pull it off course with the immediate pull. Lest her foes grip be weak this would not disarm but the Lumber Gundam shouldn't impale itself upon the raised pike.

The other whip slung to the side and slightly up, no longer aiming for the feet but rather the lower legs that, were the Gundam seek to gain solid footing none of it would be had without having those legs bound together like a hog. She wasn't very able to approach currently but that was what the Lumber was for. So what if she had to play second fiddle for just a bit. Her place in the spotlight was all but guaranteed in a few moments.

Intruder or no she would have that belt, and she certainly wouldn't let them get away with calling her sub-par. So this was both a prime opportunity for showmanship, sportsmanship and setting an example.

Suwa couldn't exactly stop her fall onto the Rising Gundam at this point, lacking the power to cancel out this moment so late in the fall. As the naginata made contact and began to pierce through the torso, Suwa growled as it completely just ruined her fighter's left arm. This was far from the end though, as the Gundam continued it's fall, with the heat naginata emerging out the back as she swung the tomahawk down on both of her opponent's exposed arms with all of the momentum she had built up.

Not to mention the fact that the Lumber Gundam would still smash right into their opponent-
